Applied Underwriters Shines, Garners Top Honors in 2021 Insurance Business America 5-Star Carrier Awards
‘A’ rated national insurer wins or places in all eleven categories, as ranked by producers
Omaha -- July 26, 2021 -- Applied Underwriters carried off top honors in all eleven categories in a Special Report published by Insurance Business America Magazine (IBA). Agents across the nation were asked to vote their views, giving carriers a rating on a scale of 1 (poor) to 5 (excellent) in these important categories: Competitive Rates, Underwriting Expertise, Overall Service Level, Product Innovation, Range of Products, Product Training and Marketing Support, Quick Quotes, Broker Communication, Claims Processing, Online Platforms and Services, and Appetite for Niche and Emerging Risks. Carriers that received an average score of 4.00 or higher were named to the 5-Star level for that particular category. Only two of the 27 nominated carriers received scores of 4.00 or higher in all eleven categories. They were Applied Underwriters and Safeco.
According to IBA, as part of the survey now in its eighth year, agents and brokers were asked to name the top three aspects they consider most important when working with a carrier “partner.” Overwhelmingly, agents and brokers named competitive rates as their top priority, followed by underwriting expertise and overall service levels, i.e. the ease of doing business with a carrier, the ability to receive quick quotes, and the provision of streamlined services.
